Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, and other Chromium-based browsers.
Download the extension
Click the button above to download the Echo extension (.zip). Save it to a folder you can find (e.g. Downloads).
Unzip the file
Right-click the downloaded zip and choose “Extract all” (Windows) or double-click to open it (macOS). You should see a folder with the extension files inside.
Open the extensions page
In Chrome, Edge, or Brave, go to the address bar and type: chrome://extensions (in Edge: edge://extensions). Press Enter.
Turn on Developer mode
On the top-right of the extensions page, switch “Developer mode” to On.
Load the extension
Click “Load unpacked”. In the file picker, select the folder you unzipped (the one that contains manifest.json). Click “Select Folder” (or “Open”). Echo will appear in your extensions list and in the toolbar.

Header
Auto Comment
- What it does: Controls what happens when you click a reply suggestion.
- ON: Automatically posts the reply to X (opens the reply composer, inserts text, and sends).
- OFF: Copies the reply to your clipboard. You paste it manually into the reply box.
- Default: Off
X Panel (Twitter/X)
Reply using
- What it does: Chooses which AI generates the reply suggestions.
- X's AI (Grok): Uses X's built-in Grok. Your X account limits apply.
- Echo API (premium): Faster premium service (currently disabled).
- Default: X's AI (Grok)
Number of replies
- What it does: How many reply suggestions to generate (1–5).
- Default: 3
Reply type
- What it does: Sets the tone or style of the generated replies.
- Options: Casual – Casual and friendly; Funny – Funny and witty; Informative – Informative and insightful; Professional – Professional and polished; Question – Thoughtful questions; Supportive – Supportive and encouraging.
- Default: Casual
Reply length
- What it does: How long each reply should be.
- Options: Very Short – 2–5 words; Short – A sentence; Medium – 1–2 lines; Long – 3–4 lines.
- Default: Short
Custom instructions
- What it does: Extra instructions added to the AI prompt (e.g. tone, slang, emojis).
- Example: "Use Gen-Z slang, add emojis"
- Default: Empty
Reply Panel (floating window)
Regenerate button
What it does: Fetches a new set of reply suggestions using your current settings.
Edit (pencil icon)
What it does: Lets you edit a reply before posting or copying.
Close (×)
What it does: Closes the reply panel and restores the Grok sidebar.
